Day 01
Arrival in Arusha
Upon your arrival at Arusha Airport, a representative from Karis Expeditions will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to unwind and settle in.
In the evening, join a short briefing session to prepare for your upcoming safari adventure.
Arusha is a vibrant gateway city filled with life and color — from bustling markets and fascinating museums to delicious local eateries and street food. Even a simple stroll offers a taste of Tanzania’s culture and energy. By the end of your stay, you may find Arusha to be one of your unexpected highlights.
Day 02
Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you’ll depart Arusha at 8:00 a.m. for a scenic 3-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Enjoy a full-day game drive across this beautiful wilderness, famous for its giant baobab trees and large elephant herds. You may also encounter lions, leopards, pythons, and diverse birdlife.
In the evening, continue to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 03
Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, journey through the lush highlands where the Iraqw people cultivate wheat, coffee, and corn. Pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before entering the legendary Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its sweeping plains and abundant wildlife.
The Central Serengeti offers superb game viewing all year round — expect to spot elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, and an array of predators including lions and cheetahs.
Day 04
Full Day in Serengeti
Spend the day exploring the endless plains of the Serengeti. This is home to one of nature’s greatest spectacles — the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras move in search of fresh grazing.
Depending on the season, you might witness dramatic predator-prey encounters or see lions and cheetahs stalking the open plains. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and relaxation under the starlit African sky.
Day 05
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive en route to the Ngorongoro Crater. With luck, you might complete your Big Five sightings before leaving the Serengeti.
Arrive at the crater’s rim and take in breathtaking views of the vast caldera below — home to an incredible density of wildlife including lions, elephants, buffalo, and the endangered black rhino. Spend the night nearby at your lodge, surrounded by the golden hues of the setting sun.
Day 06
Flight to Zanzibar
After breakfast, transfer to Arusha Airport for your flight to Zanzibar Island.
Upon arrival, explore Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich with history and charm. Wander its narrow lanes lined with coral-stone buildings, ornate wooden doors, and bustling spice markets. Stone Town beautifully blends African, Arab, and Indian influences, reflecting centuries of trade and culture.
Day 07
Nungwi Beach Escape
Today is all about relaxation. Head to Nungwi, one of Zanzibar’s most beautiful beaches, where turquoise waters meet soft white sands. Relax, sunbathe, or join optional activities like snorkeling to explore the vibrant marine life.
Nungwi is also a fantastic place to watch sunsets and learn about local dhow-building and turtle conservation efforts.
Day 08
Departure
Enjoy your final morning at leisure before your transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your onward flight.
