Selous Game Reserve (Nyerere National Park)

The Untamed Wilderness

Selous Game Reserve, officially known as Nyerere National Park, is Tanzania’s largest protected wildlife area and a true representation of Africa’s untamed beauty. Known as The Untamed Wilderness, Selous is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including elephants, hippos, crocodiles, wild dogs, lions, and a vast array of bird species. Its rivers, lakes, and floodplains provide a diverse and thriving habitat, making every safari a unique adventure.

Unlike the more frequented northern parks, Selous offers a sense of remoteness and solitude, with expansive landscapes and fewer tourists. Visitors can explore the reserve on traditional game drives, boat safaris along the Rufiji River, or even walking safaris, experiencing intimate encounters with wildlife and the raw beauty of the African wilderness.
