6 Days Kilimanjaro climb Marangu Route

Day 1: Arusha to Mandara Hut.

Altitude (ft.): 6,046 ft. to 8,858 ft.
Distance: 8 km
Trekking Time: 4-5 hours
Habitation: Rain Forest
This day we will drive from our Lodgr/Hotel to Marangu entrance and spend about two hours for record-keeping, costs of fees and final parking. Commence rising through thick semi-tropical to the first hut- Mandara hut (9,000ft). Dinner and an overnight will be here at Mandara hut

Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut.

Trekking Time: 6-8 hours

We will have an early morning breakfast and later rise through the alpine meadow and steppe and heath to Horombo hut (12,000ft). Both Mawenzi and Kibo points can be seen easily on the way. Today dinner and overnight will be at Horombo Hut.

Day 3: Horombo Hut to Mawenzi Ridge

This is an additional day that will be spent for adaptation and can be having this day walking on Mawenzi Ridge. The sole scenery bids inspiring sights of Kibo and Mawenzi. After employing a few flashes discovering the expanse we will get back to Horombo Hut.

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut.

Distance: 10 km
Trekking Time: 6-8 hours
Habitation: Alpine Desert
After having energizer breakfast and we will further rise to Kibo hut (15,000ft). The land converts to very stony and eroded. Remarkable mountain undergrowth like huge cactus, upsurge, and lobelia seem on the way. Dinner and an overnight will be at Kibo hut.

Day 5: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo hut.

Distance: 6 km
Trekking Time: 6-8 hours

Trekking Time: 4-5 hours
Habitation: Heath
Get out of sleep at midnight, and after a snack, continue to the roof of Africa over Gilman’s point (18,640ft). It is around 5-6 hours and 1-2 hours from Kibo hut to Gilman’s point and from Gilman’s Point to Uhuru Summit (19,340ft) correspondingly. You will get to arrive at the Mountain summit in the morning of the 5th day and start downward after picture taking on the summit to Horombo hut for dinner and an overnight after a short break at Kibo hut.

Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate – Arusha.

Distance: 20 km
Trekking Time: 5-7 hours
Habitation: Rain Forest
This day, we will have a long walk mostly downhill vie the tropical rain forest. Upon arrival at the park headquarters at Marangu entrance, we collect our summit certificates. The waiting vehicle will take us to Arusha, for your ongoing travel arrangements.
